great type2fun canyon! The stream bed is braided and the water is buried in alluvium where the trail crosses it. We followed blue triangles which crossed the channel a few times before we realized we were actually on the left (not true left side) and headed up the ridge. We ended up climbing an extra 200m on a steep but decent trapping track (all blue triangles) to treeline. form there we traversed over til we were above the drainage which would drop us into the appropriate confluence of Slippery Nipple. We only found 3 actual anchors which were overgrown in moss and a bit crunchy but still ok. these were on the 2 30m raps which were sweet plus one other. I left some webbing and a quick link on a log in the middle of the channel at one point and we also rapped directly off several trees and 2 boulder bollards. I didn’t count how many raps we made- probably 7-9? but did heaps of slippery down climbing (the reason for the name!). It was a good adventure, but nothing says adventure like figure things out when they don’t go just as planned!

Apparently a huge slip has filled in most of the abseils. Don’t do the trip.
